A little about Toldie

Toldie was built by serial entrepreneurs who became investors, and found they disliked investor updates from both sides of the table.

As founders, the update was the chore that never fit: a blank page on a Friday, the temptation to polish, the fear of saying a week went badly. As investors, it was the silence, then the long email that buried the one fact that mattered, then the question you could not ask without feeling like you were chasing.

Neither side liked how it worked, and both wanted the same thing: to know what is going on, quickly, honestly, and to be able to help when it counts. What was missing was a layer in between. Something that asks the founder, or the fund manager, one question a week, writes what investors and limited partners actually want to read, keeps the bad week in the open where it can be helped, and takes the chasing off everyone's plate.

They needed Toldie. So they built it, on the rules they wished they had been given: say the thing that matters, a bad week is data, an ask works when it is specific, and what you spent should have bought growth or removed a risk. Those rules are in every update it writes.

Toldie is the one in the middle. Founders and fund managers get peace to execute. Investors and LPs get the truth on their own schedule. Nobody chases anybody.

For founders · For fund managers · For investors · For LPs · How it works

Toldie bullies founders and fund managers into updating their investors. Without wasting their time.
